Third Grade Ink Grid Drawings

Utilizing contemporary painter Chuck Close's grid techniques, the third graders created these ink drawings using quills, Sumi pens, India Ink and brushes, as well as fine tip felt pens. In doing these, they displayed a wonderful understanding of how to attain a wide range of value using different pen and ink techniques. I feel that the many hours the students put into these drawings paid off extremely well. Nice work!

Kindergarten Dream Houses

After meeting an architect and learning about the profession, Kindergarten students brainstormed and created their own dream homes in chalk pastel and colored pencil.

Second Grade Jungle Paintings

The second graders created these beautiful jungle scenes after study the whimsical paintings created by Frenmch Post-Impressionist Henri Rousseau. In these paintings, the second graders made sure to mix every single color that touched their paper, to create unique and original palettes. Amazing work!
