From Value to Volume

The fourth grade students did an amazing job using just black and white paint to make their self-portraits look 3D. In this project, they observed all of the different planes on their faces that create shadows and highlights and carefully mixed different values of paint to match these. To go along with the Value theme, the students surrounded their paintings with words describing things that they value in their lives.
